We have built our core business strategy around the UN Sustainable Development Goals so that we can undertake our business activities in a way that’s beneficial to the environment, society and local and global economies.

By doing so, we can prepare for issues such as climate change, the transition to a low-carbon society and an increasing global population within an internationally defined and understood framework. These goals allow us to focus our business efforts where it matters most.

Science-based targets

Our approach to implementation has strong foundations, with the clear backing of high-level leadership and a well-defined set of metrics, centred around science-based targets.

Each individual sector and corporate function develops their own comprehensive implementation plans. We have a robust approach to regular monitoring, auditing and progress reporting against the actions outlined in our sector and corporate function sustainability implementation plans.
